Abstract

Lean Six Sigma (LSS) is a business improvement methodology that aims to maximize the value for the shareholder by improving customer satisfaction in terms of process speed, quality of the product and cost, economy which are achieved by integration tools and principles from both Lean and Six Sigma. The present study aims at exploring various facets of LSS based on its classification including research methodology, research stream, authorship pattern, sector wise distribution, type of waste eliminated and tools used followed by review. Certain gaps have been identified for each classification with outlines for future research. The results of the study will help practitioners and academicians to get a comprehensive database of LSS articles. In addition, they can understand the need for LSS in their organization, and focus on implementation of LSS philosophies.
