Abstract

Seasonal population trends for 7 leafhopper vectors of the peach yellow leaf roll strain of Western X-disease were monitored in central California using yellow sticky traps. Collections were made weekly during 1970 and 1971 for Colladonus geminatus (Van Duzee), C. montanus (Van Duzee), Euscelidius variegatus (Kirshbaum), Fieberiella florii (Stal), Keonolla confluens (Uhler), Osbornellus borealis DeLong & Mohr, and Scaphytopius delongi Young. Of these species only C. montanus, O. borealis , and S. delongi were collected in numbers great enough to establish distinct population trends. Vector adults were collected throughout the year, although not in great numbers during the period from January to March.
