Abstract

The purpose of the article is to identify factors that affect the effectiveness of a company's internal leadership using insights from the analysis of internal leadership of Ernst&Young Ukraine, a member of one of the largest professional services networks, which prioritizes a stable and effective development of its leaders. The article starts with an overview of classical and modern theories of leadership, which is followed by a description of the structure and activities of Ernst&Young as well as a corresponding SWOT analysis. The authors also analyse results of a survey conducted among the company's employees to measure their leadership skills. These findings are used to identify problems faced by modern leaders and list the main characteristics of effective leadership.(original abstract)
