Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether college students’ participation in leadership programs, workshops, or courses has an effect on their development of social perspective taking. We analyzed data from the 2015 Multi-Institutional Study of Leadership using propensity score matching and hierarchical linear regression. The results suggest that leadership lectures or workshops, leadership courses, multicultural leadership programs, and capstone leadership educational experiences had significant and positive effects on students’ social perspective taking.
