Abstract

The availability of lead and distortion in the device stability of organic-inorganic metal halide based perovskite solar cell demands the search of new perovskite absorbing material. Therefore, in present study a lead-free Ca modified Bi0.80La0.20FeO3 (BLFO) perovskite material is used as absorber layer and simulated in the SCAPS simulation software to evaluate its applicability in PSCs. The modified bandgap of absorber Bi0.80-xCaxLa0.20FeO3(BCLFO) with doping of Ca as 2.10 eV, 2.04 eV, 1.95 eV, and 1.93 eV is used in this simulation study. The device is designed with cell structure of FTO/TiO2/BCLFO/Spiro-OMeTAD/Au. Further the thickness of perovskite absorber and series resistance (RS) is optimized via simulation study and delivered the champion PCE of 6.71%, 6.80%, 6.26% and 5.84% for the PSCs having the lead-free perovskite light absorbing layer with bandgap of 1.93 eV, 1.95 eV, 2.05 eV, and 2.10 eV respectively.
