Abstract
The XXVe International Geographical Congress. The XXVe International Geographical Congress « Paris-Alpes » has been held in Paris in August 1984. More than 2 500 members, from 85 different countries, were present. Organized by the five « alpin » countries (Austria, Italy, the Federal Republic of Germany, France, Switzerland), having received many official supports, the congress has been divided in three parts : 36 pre-congress symposia, the main session with the General Assembly of the IGU, 8 post-congress excursions. The success of the congress in a witness of the vitality of Geograhy (with some weaknesses also).
