Abstract

After to have been considered as pattern of «normal erosion», the wet temperate geomorphic system is scarcely studied in treatises of geomorphology. Recent investigations supported by measures of processes in small forested watersheds emphasize its essential characteristics : insignificant erosion loss on slopes brings few suspension load to rivers which carry out more solution load provided by moderate chemical weathering under forest cover. Field clearings have not altered the steady state of landforms, out of some temporary crisis of accelerated erosion.
