Abstract
Information System of Socialist Enterprise. The article attemps to present a comprensive analysis of success indicators. First, the following basic function of success indicators are discussed : (a) as a performance indicator for the higher authorities, (b) as a choice criterion for enterprise management, (c) as a basis for managerial bonus system and finally (d) as a basis regulating capital availability to the enterprise. Secondly, the concept of « reception sphere » of success indicators is introduced. « In formation sensitivity » of different success indicators is studied and the causes influencing this sensitivity are analysed. Thirdly, the scope of reception sphere is used as a criterion for distinguishing between «synthetic» and ((specialized» success indicators and comparative analysis of their relative merits and demerits is undertaken. This comparison is carried on from the viewpoint of how efficiently the basic functions, analysed in Section 1, are performed by these two types of success indicators. The last sections are devoted to investigation of what are the conditions necessary for efficient functioning of synthetic success indicators and then — more broadly — any enterprise information system.
