Abstract
Abstract The Veron alluvial plain, located above the confluence of the Loire and Vienne rivers, France, is underlain by a series of Cenomanian (Cretaceous) deposits which are not horizontal, but constitute a dome which was subjected to considerable weathering. In the Chouze area, in the central part of the dome, Jurassic limestones occur below the plain. Their fauna (which is described) is composed mainly of numerous pelecypods and ammonites (including one new species).
