Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to propose a method of analysis of actor's spontaneous causal attribution in natural situation, adapted from the leeds attributional coding system (LACS), described by Stratton, Heard, Hanks, Munton, Brewin et Davidson (1986). We suggest a French adaptation of the LACS, called the système de codage leeds des attributions causales spontanées (SCLACS). This method is composed into of six steps and allowed to collect actors' spontaneous analysis in action situations or immediately after success and failures. Through coding, this meticulous analysis could provide a basis for statistical analysis. We show the interest to collect qualitative data in order to be closed to the real human's functioning in action. This method is illustrated with basketball players.
