Abstract

Through a series of semi-structured interviews (N = 20) conducted with foreign students on temporary mobility at the University of Strasbourg, this study sheds light on the fact that these temporary students belong to a globalized elite. It demonstrates that this elite has a culture of its own, shared by all the members of the group. The article shows that healthism and a socio-environmental model are conveyed through this global culture. It also highlights the important role of the media and supranational bodies in the dissemination of ideologies underlying this global culture.
