Abstract

The role of islam in contemporaneous mauritanian society. With the evolution of contemporaneous Mauritania, the islamic religious sector has become official and state established into its respective functions of manager of worship, education and justice. This «unprivatization» brought, among other things, a new religious staff earning wages or granted by the State, whose new links to political life constitute a new data in the history of Islam in Mauritania.
