Abstract

Parricide is a despicable crime that arouses indignation and incomprehension. Psychotic parricide is committed under a delirious state or following a familial crisis situation. Typically, it reflects an ambivalent relationship of the psychotic patient with his mother or his father. Several studies have attempted to understand this phenomenon and describe the clinical and criminological characteristics in order to delineate the perpetrator’s profile for a preventive purpose. We present the case of a schizophrenic patient who killed his father with pickaxes, dragged him in the street before being arrested by the police without any resistance.
