Abstract

The drawer of several stained glass windows of Chartres cathedral, whom Louis Grodecki named the master of saint Chéron, is stylistically very close to the sculptor of the Creation on the Nord porch. Their work is so original that both artists are probably the same person. The examination of the few chronological evidences authorizes us to assume the dating around 1220. At the end of the decade the same sculptor drew windows at Troyes cathedral, and it is possible that, in between, he sculpted also the so-called Philippe Aguste in Reims cathedral.
