Abstract

Abstract The zone of imbricate structures between the main ridge of the Pyrenees and its northern foreland in the Salat-Adour region, France, represents a cordillera which was formed during pre-Cenomanian embryonic crustal movements, discordantly covered by breccias during the Cenomanian (Cretaceous), and subjected to overthrusting during the main Pyrenean orogeny at the end of the Eocene.
