Abstract

The proximal tibia is one of the first sites where the MIPO technique was experimented, owing to its favourable anatomical features. Today, the use of this technique is increasing, in particular in some specific types of fractures, such as simple or plurifragmented metaphyseal ones, but also in bicondylar fractures in association with conventional plating. Satisfactory results can be obtained thanks to the easy performance of this technique, when supported by specific instrumentation or even without it.
