Abstract

This article presents some results and insights into the place of the abortion right debate in the history of women and feminism in Switzerland. Between 1971 and 1972, the aim is to highlight the consequences of gendered family policy on the one hand, and the feminist stakes of the struggle for free abortion and the liberation of women’s voices on the other. Shortly after the introduction of women’s suffrage, the public debate on abortion rapidly invaded the media space, which we will examine through a few audiovisual and printed sources.
