Abstract
Several randomized trials showed that lung cancer screening by low-dose CT-scan reduces lung cancer mortality. In France and Europe, many academic societies published statement in favor of such a screening. In France, eligibility criteria are: age between 50 and 75, smoking more than 10 cigarettes per day during 10 years or 15cig/d during 25 years, current or former smoker quitting since less than 10 years (option : being smoker for more than 30 pack-year and quitting since less than 15 years). Biomarkers are highly promising, particularly blood biomarkers. The use of score to optimize and personalize eligibility is also a major topic for research.© 2021 SPLF.
