Abstract

The 14th C. painted decoration in the choir of Rodez cathedral. During the last ten years, three groups of mural paintings have been brought to light in Rodez cathedral : in Saint Catherine Chapel (Christ in Majesty and saints), in Saint Agnes Chapel (prophets and saints), and in the axis chapel (Christ in Majesty surrounded by the Tetramorph). Their state of preservation doesn’t permit to identify all the figures and the scenes. Their style and a few external elements allow a datation around the middle of the 14th C. They have been executed by a single worshop, which worked for the cathedral. The influence of the “italo-avignonnaise” painting is noticeable, as well as the one of french illumination.
