Abstract

Tubulo-mucinous and fusiform carcinoma of TMFC is a rare clinico-morphological entity recently described in the WHO 2004 classification. Its prognosis is favorable but its histogenesis is not yet established. We report two clinical cases in two patients, respectively 39 and 70 years old. The clinical picture is identical in the two patients represented by left low back pain. At abdominal CT, a tumor process that is slightly enhanced after injection of the contrast agent. Treatment consisted of total tumor excision, the pathologic examination of which showed a tubulo-mucinous and fusiform carcinoma of the low-grade Fuhrman malignant kidney. The evolution was favorable in both patients with a follow-up of 5 years and 2 months in the first and second 9 months. Through this observation we report this rare entity whose recognition is crucial for clinicians and pathologists given its prognosis which is entirely favorable.
