Abstract

A novel low-density parity-check (LDPC) coded multiinput multi-output (MIMO) communication system with time varying linear transformation (TVLT) is proposed in this paper. Combined with the outstanding distance property of LDPC codes, TVLT can provide full diversity and maximum coding gain at the same time without exhaustive search for the good space-time codes as usual. To satisfy the demand of TVLT on channel coding, the girth in Tanner code is discussed briefly. Corresponding joint iterative detector /decoder structure of receiver in the new system greatly simplifies the demodulation/decoding process. Compared with the common Turbo coded or conventional convolution coded concatenated MIMO system, the novel concise system achieves higher coding gain and full diversity together, which is verified by simulation results.
