Abstract

We reported LD pumped high-power high-efficiency continue-wave (CW) orange vortex lasers based on a lowly-doped 15-mm-long a-cut Pr3+(0.12 at. %):YLF crystal by a concave-plane cavity. Single-wavelength vortex lasers at 607 nm and 604 nm with maximum output powers of 2.78 W and 0.71 W were achieved, with 40.3% and 27.8% slope efficiencies, respectively. Orthogonally polarized dual-wavelength vortex lasers at 604 and 607 nm were also obtained, with a maximum power of 1.91 W. The wavelengths of lasers were tuned by a plane output coupler with gradational transmissions, without any intracavity elements. Both the first-order Laguerre-Gaussian modes (LG0+1 and LG0-1) of orange lasers were obtained by slightly tilting the crystal.
