Abstract

In this work, 2D ultrathin positively-charged α-nickel hydroxide (α-Ni(OH)2) nanosheets composite with negatively-charged graphene oxide (GO) to prepare composite membrane by LBL assembly technology. The strong electrostatic interaction between α-Ni(OH)2 and GO improved the structural stability of the interlayer channels of GO/α-Ni(OH)2 composite membranes. Moreover, the surface charge and thickness of the membrane can be easily regulated by assembly layer numbers. Compared with the unmodified GO membrane, the GO/α-Ni(OH)2 membrane with nanometer thickness inhibited the membrane swelling and achieved controlled sieving of charged molecules.
