Abstract

Psoriasis is a kind of chronic inflammatory skin disease. Mast cells significantly increase and activate in the lesions of psoriasis patients, which involves in psoriatic inflammation. Dermcidin (DCD) is a natural antibacterial peptide secreted by sweat glands and usually transported to the epidermal surface by sweat. Whether DCD is involved in mast cell activation is unclear. However, the mechanisms that DCD involved in skin inflammatory reaction needs to be investigated. To investigate whether Dermcidin derived polypeptides: DCD(86-103) activates MCs and induces skin inflammatory reaction contributing to psoriasis.
