Abstract

The layered organic/inorganic perovskite-type hybrids (C 6H 5C 2H 4NH 3) 2PbI 4 and (C 6H 5C 2H 4NH 3) 2PbBr 4 were synthesized from a precursor solution by a novel spray pyrolysis method. A scanning electron micrograph study shows that the as-received powders of the hybrids consist of particles with varied morphologies such as slabs and shells depending on the concentration of the precursor solution. The X-ray diffraction patterns indicate that the resulting perovskite powders have a layered structure, which agrees with the SEM observations. The obtained hybrid materials exhibit an exciton emission peak with a red shift relative to those prepared from the conventional methods.
