Abstract

A study is made of the effect of the regimes used for heating, hot-rolling, and heat-treating seamless pipes of steel 20-KT on their content of corrosion-active nonmetallic inclusions (CANIs). Technological measures are developed to ensure that the low CANI content which is required is obtained and that the steel thus has high indices for resistance to local corrosion in aqueous chlorine-bearing media.
