Abstract

In developing and under-developed countries, child labor is a grave global concern. It harms the nation’s social, economic, and developmental growth. It is a complex and multi-dimensional issue because its features impact children’s well-being. Despite international conventions and guidelines on child labor and child rights, child workers still perform hazardous work and the worst different types of child labor. Besides substandard working conditions, child workers have exposure to physical violence, bullying, and sexual harassment. This article outlines international conventions and Indian legislation on child labor and child rights.
