Abstract
The present paper reports a simple method of launching of laser beams into indigenously developed glass fibre optical waveguides. Method of drawing cladded glass fibres from Indian glasses has been described. Attenuation about 100 dB/km at 0–6 μm has been measured for such fibre waveguide.
