Abstract

We present high resolution measurements of the lattice constants of LaRh 3B 2, CeRh 3B 2 and PrRh 3B 2 between 4 and 1100K and resistivity measurements of LaRh 3B 2 and CeRh 3B 2. Lattice constants show a huge and strongly temperature dependent anomaly of the c/a-ratio of CeRh 3B 2, which is not present in the other two compounds. CeRh 3B 2 also shows a nearly temperature independent volume anomaly, suggesting a fractional valence.
