Abstract
Polarized Raman spectra of BaLaGa3O7 and SrLaGa3O7 single crystals were recorded. Spectra were obtained at right angle and backward scattering. The polarization effects were used to describe the longitudinal and transverse phonons. The translatory and rotatory lattice modes were identified and the spectra of the barium and strontium compounds were compared
