Abstract

Specific heat measurements were performed on He3 and He/sup 4/ at 0.06 to l deg K, using a calorimeter consisting of a Cu sponge of free volume 0.318 cm/ sup 3/ with pores of 10 mu , made by sintering uniform particles of Cu powder inside a copper cup. Above 0.3 deg K, results for solid He/sup 4/, BETA He/sup 3/, and alpha He/sup 3 fit the Debye T/sup 3/ law, and THETA D values agree with data. Existence of an Einstein ' or Schottky' term in the thermal capacity of solid alpha He is confirmed. Data compare favorably with theory; data and calculations are presented in graphical and tabular forms. (L.N.N.)
