Abstract

AbstractIn large scale rotational flow field, there appear a series of complex dynamic phenomena due to the Coriolis force effect. Based on previous works, the lattice Boltzmann equation model in rotational flow field is developed by introducing the Coriolis force. Geophysics hydrodynamic equations can be derived from this model. Numerical computation is given to simulate atmospheric circulation of the Northern Hemisphere with this model under ideal boundary conditions. The numerical results have shown the flow behavior of large scale geostrophic current. Applicability of the model is verified in theory and numerical experiment.
