Abstract

Data were gathered from sandpipers captured with mist nets at Fraternidad Lagoon near Cabo Rojo on the SW end of Puerto Rico and on the Pacific coast of Ecuador. Small sandpipers were netted during September, October and November 1989-1991 at Fraternidad, a long (2.2 km) and narrow lagoon managed as part of a salt extraction industry, and with a variable surface area of roughly 125 ha.
