Abstract
A specimen of Laternea was found in the Barra do Rio Mamanguape Environmental Protected Area, Paraíba, Brazil. The basidioma is composed of four vertical arms joined at the apex, and it presents a pendant glebifer below the junction. It is described here as an authentic specimen of L. triscapa from Northeast Brazil, with photographs and drawings of the basidioma and microstructures, and discussion of the names attributed to the genus.
