Abstract

Latent trait models deal with a set of binary responces from an individual in a given population. The aim of the statistical analysis is to estimate the value of an assumed latent parameter, characteristic of the individual, and to describe the variation of the latent parameters among individuals. In the paper various approaches to such statistical analyses are discussed and the methods of analysis are illustrated with a set of consumer complaint behaviour data.
