Abstract
Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), a member of transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) family has offered rich scope for the development of innovative electronics. Their physical properties need to be properly tuned for specifically targeted application. Tn this work, swift heavy ion (SHT) irradiation has been employed as a viable option for controlled modifications of their properties. The effects of 100 MeV Ag ion irradiation on the structural properties of MoS2 nanosheets are investigated. Formation of latent track having radius of 1.64 nm was observed. Features andmechanism of latent tracks formation are discussed.
