Abstract

THERE have been few reports on late reactions to hydralazine (Apresoline) therapy. Attention was recently called to a syndrome resembling acute systemic lupus erythematosus associated with prolonged treatment of hypertension with large doses of hydralazine.1 Two reports2 , 3 have appeared describing a syndrome resembling early rheumatoid arthritis or disseminated lupus erythematosus occurring in 13 of 139 and 14 of 253 patients whose treatment included hydralazine.
