Abstract
In an article published in this Journal, Condie (1966) has presented some thoughtprovoking conclusions concerning the late Precambrian rocks of the northeastern Great Basin and vicinity. However, some of his conclusions are not substantiated by precise data in his paper; in contrast, many previous workers not cited by Condie have presented markedly different conclusions that are based on a vast amount of detailed information. There are also several errors in Condie's references to other papers. In addition, Condie presents data and conclusions published prior to his own studies without making acknowledgement.
