Abstract

Background & Aims: Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is a chronic cholestatic liver disease, characterized by sclerosis and destruction of the biliary system. The median onset of PSC varies in different populations, but reaches a climax around the age between thirty and forty. We aimed to analyze disease progression and liver-dependent survival in patients with first diagnosis of PSC after the age of fifty years.
