Abstract

A second Late Cretaceous (Maestrichtian Age)mammal fauna for South America was recovered from the El Molino Formation in southcentral Bolivia. Three species are referred to the marsupial super-family Didelphoidea. The most abundant species has marked bunodont dental specializations which are convergent with some early placental Condylarthra; it is named and is tentatively placed in the didelphid subfamily Caroloameghiniinae.
