Abstract

Food elimination diets have been in use for many years for conditions other than IgE mediated food allergy, such as atopic dermatitis. Unfortunately, there have been several reports of severe IgE mediated reactions occurring when foods previously tolerated were re-introduced following a period of elimination. We attempted to characterize patients presenting with a history of reactions following the use of an elimination diet.
