Abstract
Significant strides have been made since laser resurfacing was introduced. This article discusses the history, current status, and possible future of laser resurfacing. Carbon dioxide, Er:YAG, variable-pulse, mixed-mode, and nonablative laser technologies are reviewed. The advantages and disadvantages of combining laser resurfacing, facelifting, and other adjunctive procedures are addressed.
