Abstract

Glen Spectra can supply a range of CCD detectors specifically designed for spectroscopic applications. Multichannel sensitivity and dynamic range are both increased by an order of magnitude compared to intensified photodiode arrays. The range of CCD chips includes the standard 578 ×385 pixel array, and in addition 298 × 1152 and 770 × 1152 pixel arrays. The 298 × 1152 pixel array is especially well suited to use in spectroscopic systems. The wavelength response of these detectors can be extended into the ultraviolet by the use of an organic dye coating. In addition ‘thick’ and ‘thin’ CCDs are available to give enhanced infrared response and enhanced quantum efficiency respectively. The liquid nitrogen cooled systems are now available in a new slim-line dewar with extended temperature hold times. All these CCD chips are also available in a thermoelectrically cooled detector head. These CCD detectors are fully compatible with all SPEX monochromators, fluorometers and Raman systems. The Spex DM3000 PC-compatible spectroscopy computer controls these CCD detectors to give a fully integrated easy-to-use package. T1
