Abstract

Plasma polymer metal composite films, prepared by simultaneous plasma polymerization and metal evaporation, were annealed by a Nd:YAG laser to initiate changes of the metal particle size and shape without material ablation. The optical properties are determined by the metal particle size and shape and were measured by UV/VIS/NIR spectroscopy before and after laser-annealing. The changes of the silver particle size and shape were demonstrated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
