Abstract
Thermoplastics 's laser weldingis an optimization technique for attaching sheets & components made of plastics by heating them with a concentrated laser beam. This technology frequently gives solutions in areas where existing techniquesmust be improved. Since the mid-1990 s, laser technology has established itself as a viable fabrication process for the plastics industry. The usage of plastics in industry is expanding as a means of reducing the total weight, cost, or time of products. Adhesive bonding, Mechanical fastening,and welding are the most common methods of joining plastics. This article demonstrates that plastics welding is still a rapidly growing area of research and development, mainly laser welding, due to the growing desire for lightweight materials and environmentally friendly technology. The aim of this report is to present an overview of laser welding of thermoplastics, which will benefit young researchers working in this field and will pave the way for future research aimed at improving weld quality.
