AbstractThe market for laser materials processing systems reached a new all time high in 2005. Worldwide sales last year were EUR 4.75 billion (US$ 5.91 billion). This compares to a volume of EUR 4.65 billion (US$ 5.78 billion) in 2004, corresponding to a 2% increase (Fig. 1). These figures are estimated by Optech Consulting based on the market development in the first three quarters of 2005.
