Abstract
AbstractJapan is one of the most advanced countries in terms of manufacturing technologies, and the role of lasers has become increasingly important since the beginning of 21st century [1]. The Japanese laser market is expanding steadily and competing with existing manufacturing technologies. In this article, recent market trends of laser processing systems using CO2 lasers, solid state lasers and excimer lasers in Japanese market are outlined. Hot topics of successful laser‐based manufacturing technologies for largescale production are also introduced.
