Abstract

We present measurements of velocity and vibrational energy distributions of aniline desorbed from a quartz substrate by pulsed laser-induced thermal desorption. The experiments are carried out in a two laser pump-probe setup, using a newly developed in-vacuum dosing system for continuous replenishment of the aniline layer between laser pulses. Our data indicate laser desorption of molecules at translational and vibrational temperatures close to the equilibrium desorption temperature of aniline from quartz.
