Abstract

In a pure n-InSb sample, cyclotron harmonic transitions in the conduction band were observed with high resolution, using CO 2 laser induced photoconductivity in magnetic fields up to 20 T. Free electron transitions, both of the spin-conserving and the spin-reversing type, are well described by a Pidgeon-Brown treatment. Also observed are a series of LO-phonon assisted transitions. Impurity transitions, which are also found, yield precise information on carrier freeze-out effects by their dependence on temperature and magnetic field.
