Abstract

Fluorescence lifetimes for emission from specific (v',J') rovibrational levels of the BiBr A3Π(0+) state have been measured by the first time by laser-induced fluorescence. Collision-free lifetimes for various rovibrational levels (v',J') of BiBr A3Π(0+) state have been obtained. No significative variations were found for different rotational transitions in the v'=0−3 interval of vibrational levels of the A3Π(0+) state studied. A collision-free fluorescence radiative lifetime of τo ≈ 0.54 μs is proposed for the BiBr A(0+ state and values for total deactivation rates of kT ≈ (6.2 ± 0.4)×10−12 cm3molec−1s−1 in the spectral range studied were obtained.
